The Seminario del Santisimo Rosario de Caceres, widely known as the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary in Naga City, holds the distinction of being Southern Luzon’s oldest ecclesiastical and civil higher educational institution. Its iconic building that sits next to the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral is an imposing testament to a long history of formation of religious and civic minds of the region. Established in 1788 by Bishop Domingo Collantes, it began as the Seminario Conciliar de Caceres in response to the 19th Ecumenical Council’s call. Over its long history, it has weathered natural disasters and transitions, emerging as a beacon of education and faith. From its roots in minor seminary education, it has evolved to encompass junior and senior high school programs. With a legacy spanning centuries, it remains dedicated to nurturing future civil and ecclesiastical leaders.
